It's National Hot Chocolate Day!
I don't think any winter season would be complete without a steaming cup of rich hot chocolate. If you're skiing, snow shoeing, or enjoying all that winter sports have to offer, a hot cup of cocoa can bring so much warmth and joy to a cold day.
Often times, if you rip open an envelope of the traditional powdered drink, it can contain chemicals, artificial flavors/colors, and unidentified substances.
It's very easy to make this simple beverage healthier and have it ready for a group of snow bunnies in a flash. Check out the recipe below:
Ingredients:
* 2 1/2 Cups Unsweetened Almond Milk
* 4 Tablespoons Organic Cacao Powder
* 2-4 Dates, Pitted
* 1 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
* Pinch of Pink Salt
Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth. Place this mixture in a small pot on the stovetop and heat until desired temperature.
Serve with optional cream and dark chocolate shavings.
Enjoy!
